dicomnifti software package provides converts DICOM files into the NIfTI format, you can install in your Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (Precise Pangolin) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install dicomnifti
dicomnifti is installed in your system.
Make ensure the dicomnifti package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep dicomnifti *
You will get with dicomnifti package name, version, architecture and description in a table
